Key Responsibilities (Growth focus)

  • Lead and execute strategic engagements at key customer. Drive adoption of innovative solutions and unput RD for future roadmap.
  • Acquire deep customer knowledge. Interact with customers to gain understanding of their technical requirements and effectively translate these requirements into the product roadmap and engagement strategies.
  • Align direction of application development based on the customer technology roadmap.
  • Drive and develop use cases, define/find wining applications based on the balance between AMAT and customer interest.
  • Provide leadership and direction through managers for providing perspective of customer process and device roadmaps (N to N+2) for a broad function area.
  • Identify inflections, threats and opportunities for market share and market size growth.
  • Develop and manage relationships with technical buyers. Improve customer(s) preference to engage Applied on their need
  • Own and manage technical engagement programs with customer(s).
  • Protect customer(s) IP and Applied IP, gather competitive intelligence.
  • Explore customer(s) challenges, understand options and influences the customer's technical choices. Design alternative technology solutions and improve customer(s) preference to engage Applied on technical problems.
  • Must own specific initiatives

Mission:

  • Significant Contribution to PDC growth through clear understanding of customer needs, early catch of technology, managing key initiatives and ability to influence customer's top management. TCD should identify areas for growth and enhance customer engagement, solution position, market penetration and adoption.

Key Success Factors:

  • Identification and definition of customer needs and the suitable PDC technology/application/roadmap
  • Impacts PDC business direction through the development of innovative services or products
  • Impacts customer score-card

Functional Knowledge

  • Demonstrates a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a discipline. The role must keep abreast of new developments in order to help define the necessary changes to policy and practice

Business Expertise

  • Utilizes highly specialized skills to expand Applied's technology footprint or customer base or to increase operational efficiencies in support of Applied's business objectives
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of the industry in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. This includes enabling the business unit to differentiate itself from the competition

Leadership

  • Leads key cross-functional project teams or initiatives. Acts as a mentor and role model to others within the organization

Problem Solving

  • Exercises a high degree of autonomy when making decisions that impact the business unit or function deliverables

Impact

  • Decisions impact annual goal attainment and contribute to achievement of important objectives of the business unit and may impact other external functions or groups

Interpersonal Skills

  • Demonstrates sound communication skills to be able to modify the beliefs and opinions of other peers in the business unit.
  • Creates strong business relationships with key stakeholders to enlist their active support
