Brief Function Description
Supplier engineer is responsible for providing leadership and managing overall supplier manufacturing, operation issue across supplier base, ensuring process controls are established and adhered throughout the supplier's entire manufacturing process. Engages early in product development, providing drawing/design input and conducting first builds with the supplier to establish quality products upfront. In addition, manages customer and factory escalations by driving supplier corrective action reports and presenting to business unit executives.
The supplier engineering team is a supportive, cross-functional team with many diverse skillsets and experiences, lending itself to many learning opportunities just from within the team. Additionally, Applied has extensive internal and external training programs offering various certifications and development opportunities tailored specifically for the engineer's skill sets and goals. The highly dynamic workload is project-focused and across any commodity e.g. OEM, BTP, allowing the engineer to manage individual work schedules.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier problem resolutions, drive root cause and correction actions at suppliers and communicates back to cross-functional team.
- Support new product development/introduction by reviewing process specifications, engineering drawings, and first article inspections to ensure integrity and clarity.
- Drive systemic supplier process improvement plans for reducing quality defects.
- Conduct audits at supplier sites - part to print verification, quality management system review, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Proliferate key learnings and BKMs (best-known methods) into the Supplier Base.
- Engage in new product development programs - providing supplier perspective into drawing reviews and product design phase.
- Support Pilot and Volume manufactory sites as the supplier engineer for specifically assigned suppliers.
Functional Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of Electrical Engineering Discipline with radio frequency principles, circuits, antennas, and related technologies
- Knowledge of electromagnetics, antenna theory, signal processing, modulation, coding, and RF circuit design
- Direct manufacturing and industry experience in various commodities like electrical and electronics components, RF Gen/RF Match, network analyzer, box builds, AC racks, circuit breakers, utilities and electrical connections, interconnects and interface connections, power cable and PCBA (advantage)
- Design for manufacturability knowledge like knowhow in design, simulate, and optimize RF circuits and systems for various applications, focusing on performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Diagnose issues of diverse scope with design, field performance, root cause/failure analysis, reliability and manufacturing test yields of existing RF products using formal investigation methods and to recommend/implement corrective actions to address
- Knowledge of software packages like MATLAB, HFSS, or ADS is an advantage
- Workman ship, visual WIs, OMS, end of line testing and troubleshooting
- Well versed in quality management systems and methodologies.
- Value Stream Mapping experience
- Manufacturing / machining process development and qualification
- knowledge of Engineering Drawing Interpretation
- Ability to read & understand 3D models
- PFMEA knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of metrology and measuring equipment
Problem Solving
- Solves complex technical problems that have a broad impact on the business, need to be able to analyze and troubleshoot RF systems and components, identify and mitigate sources of interference and noise, and find solutions that meet the specifications and requirements of the customers and stakeholders.
- Analyze test data to derive insights and make data-driven decisions to improve RF system performance or NC reduction (Accuracy, Noise and Distortion)
- Should be capable of handling challenging and complex field, and requires a lot of creativity and innovation to solve problems and optimize performance
- Understanding and use of various problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D, six sigma, etc.
- Willingness to learn and flexible in problem-solving approaches.

• Excellent communication skills in English between the supplier and cross-functional team.
Experience and Education
•8 - 10 years of relevant work experience, min 6 years in Manufacturing, Development or Supplier Development role
•Bachelor's / Master's or Equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, Manufacturing/Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline
