Key Responsibilities
- Manage all materials shortages for assigned Business Unit (BU) in working closely with Purchasing/Supplier Account Management/Suppliers and respective functions to ensure supply continuity to keep production lines running.
- Take lead on internal and external parties' relationship to ensure consistent, timely and effective communication regarding material availability.
- Work and review with Purchasing Manager/Buyers on constraint suppliers/critical parts to ensure supply continuity to support Business Unit(BU) assigned. Escalate to suppliers/PM when parts are HOT, shipments are missed or commits aren't met
- Material Planning for all critical parts with business knowledge to plan and drive strategic supply to ensure consistent and adequate supply of materials in meeting business demand and changes.
- Work with respective functions; engineering, MPM, SCM etc to ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity and accuracy in driving materials requirement.
- Interface(Focal) point for the BU for all related materials shortages escalation (1st level escalation) and resolution. Work with suppliers/PM/buyers exploring all possibilities to resolve shortages and provide timely update to BU.
- Attend all BU Production/War Room Meetings and suppliers meetings (when needed for shortages resolution and escalation)
- Expedites and ensures the timely receipt of critical materials.
- Coordinates/drives purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. Leads problem resolution for material related accounting and receiving issues.
- Design, develop and implement flexible solutions to aid Supply and Purchasing efficiency, drive process improvements and add value.
- Develops methods of business simplification for the procurement function. Assists or participates with the development of ISO documents for the purchasing function.
- Reviews MRP on a regular basis. Identifies issues and escalates as necessary to materials management. Reviews and ensures actions per disposition of ECOs on a world wide basis.
- Maintains inventory levels per plan and performs E&Z analysis. Minimizes excess and zero demand inventory. Provides input to management regarding action plans to address long term issues.
- Pulls and reads part specifications and engineering drawings. Utilizes knowledge of material types to communicate with engineers and suppliers. Provides feedback to engineering for cost reduction efforts.
