Key Responsibilities

  • Go-to Focal point for the BU on all related materials shortages escalation (1st level escalation) and resolution.
  • Forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
  • Coordinates demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure. Reviews MRP on a regular basis, to executes, cancels, pull in, push out and planned orders as prioritized.
  • Identifies issues and escalates as necessary to materials management. Reviews and ensures actions per disposition of ECOs on a world-wide basis.
  • Coordinate and work with Quality, Engineering, & Manufacturing Operations to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues.
  • Manage purchasing activities for materials shortages on from each Business Units (BU) in working closely with Purchasing / Product Managers/ Commodity Business Manager/ Suppliers in respective functions to ensure supply continuity to keep production lines running.
  • Under some supervision, creates, releases and updates new project materials strategy.
  • Materials: Coordinates activities around source selection, specification creation and price negotiation with appropriate team members.
  • Maintains inventory levels per plan and performs E&Z analysis. Minimizes excess and zero demand inventory. Provides input to management regarding action plans to address long term issues.
  • Pulls and reads part specifications and engineering drawings. Utilizes knowledge of material types to communicate with engineers and suppliers. Provides feedback to engineering for cost reduction efforts.
  • Manages materials change control process. Meets cost objectives and resolves quality issues. Generates and publishes Key Process Indicators . Tracks total landed costs targets.
  • Works with engineering to identify preliminary critical parts, long-lead parts and inspection requirements. Assists in developing supplier and commodity road maps to engineering. Utilizes value analysis on build-to-print components in support of Should Cost analysis.
  • Maintain effective relationship with existing and develop potential suppliers for goods and services to meet the established cost, quality and delivery targets, including engagement with sub-tier in the supply chain.
  • Participate and Present in all BU Operational / Production/War Room/Supplier's Meeting (when needed for shortages resolution and escalation)
  • Able to work independently and prioritize job duties, as well as prepare cost analyses to review with Purchasing Manager
  • Ability to communicate with all people involved in the material execution process and deal with any problems that may arise
  • Math skills and Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate, to avoid unforeseen losses for the company
  • Ability to work and lead the team
  • Functional Knowledge
  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in own job family and basic knowledge of other related job families.
  • Knowledge in SAP, supplier collaboration as well as activities pertaining to purchasing processes.
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office software suite and be able to create specialized spreadsheets through Excel.
