Role
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions, this person will direct all matters related to M&A Execution for the enterprise. This person and team will directly impact both the profitability and Balance Sheet of Applied Materials, as well as our reputation in the financial and technology communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, and joint ventures.
- Primary contact with buyers and sellers on all M&A and strategic commercial deals.
- Leads all price and contract negotiations in partnership with Corporate and Business Unit senior executives.
- Manages internal and external deal team resources.
- Responsible for AMAT's view of value and price.
- Supports business units in developing strategic fit analysis and evaluating structure and process options.
- Presents findings and recommendations to M&A committee, Investment sub-committee of Board and Board of Directors.
- Supports Business Units and Corporate Business Development Strategy in development of acquisition pipeline.
- Maintains solid relationships with external transaction advisors including Investment Banks.
- Responsible for analytical framework of transaction evaluation.
- Manages M&A staffing requirements, deal process and presentation continuous improvement.

- 10-15 years of directly aligned experience within the M&A function with heavy emphasis on leading M&A execution
- Core M&A skills including: negotiations lead, deal valuations, pricing
- Track record of demonstrated success leading M&A execution efforts for large, multi-national corporations
- Successfully directed numerous large cross-boarder transactions
- Led large complex commercial deals

U.S. Salary Range:
$216,000.00 - $297,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
