Key Responsibilities

Responsible for managing construction projects in the Bay Area region. Manage and support design professionals including architects, engineers, and other specialty consultants from initial programming to construction completion. Manage outsourced suppliers. Engage and maintain positive working relationships with the local jurisdictions/departments. Drives continuous improvement in supplier processes and operating costs. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

Responsibilities:

Manage project scope, schedule, and budget through all phases of design, contracting, and construction. Knowledgeable of construction processes, startup, testing, commissioning and acceptance of systems and buildings. Ensure projects are completed according to project plans. Candidate has a proven track record in managing a safety culture with leading indicators and methods that promote a safe working environment including incident investigation and corrective actions.

  • Ability to handle due diligence of project sites and to assist with entitlements. Professionally represent Applied Material's interest at all meetings with Consultants, General Contractors, and Suppliers.
  • Engage and maintain positive working relationships with the local jurisdictions/departments.
  • Meet with internal strategic engineering groups, operations, network teams and business units to collect detailed project requirements.
  • Drive both internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines as required per the project delivery schedule.
  • Create and maintain the project budget including securing internal approvals for capital funding.
  • Provide budget analysis (cost models and trending) and value engineering. Engagement and management of General Contractors to include competitive bidding and negotiation of contracts and cost proposals.
  • Prepare and present comparative cost analysis.
  • Experience with PLC & DDC building management systems with the ability to lead design discussions.
  • Management and oversight of commissioning agents with experience in reviewing sequence of operations and test scripts.
  • Ability to engage site operations team from design to project turn over.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience as a construction project manager
  • Deep knowledge of the construction industry/market, design process, and construction practices.
  • Strong background in commercial and industrial construction to include mechanical, electrical, process piping, plumbing building systems, tenant improvement, site work and ground up construction.
  • B.S. Degree, or equivalent, in such areas as Engineering or Construction Management.

U.S. Salary Range:
$133,500.00 - $183,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
