Key Responsibilities

  • Architecting and designing high-speed mixed-signal circuits and realize first-time-right.
  • Technically lead and/or execute engineering projects.
  • Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of complex electrical problems with limited to no supervision
  • Develop solutions to moderately complex problems through assessment of various techniques and approaches.
  • Implement concepts for wide range of complex product issues and solutions, specify and/or perform engineering analysis of complex scope.
  • Specify the development of design or modify engineering assemblies, layout/schematics and detailed drawings/specifications and test plan & test report of complex scope.
  • Involved in routine communication with groups inside & outside Applied Materials to solve cutting-edge problems and present information as well as active participation in work groups, providing ideas and helping to achieve teamwork.

Functional Knowledge

  • MS/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience designing analog/digital circuits.
  • Independently work on schematic & PCB Design, prototype including Demand analysis, design documentation, component selection, create schedule, CM audit & inspection, manage progress & deliverables ).
  • Experience on high speed (>25Hz) digital circuits design (e.g.,SerDes, counters, dividers, etc.) with Cu medium and solid substrates. Understanding of the FPGA is a benefit
  • Knowledge of system level design on co-packaged optics, optical interconnect, TDI camera, illumination.
  • Knowledge of common high-speed interface & protocols (e.g., PCIe, QSFP, Aurora, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with analog mixed-signal (AMS) circuit development from definition to high-volume production including layout supervision, PCB & BOM & PCBA management, bench evaluation, failure analysis, correlation, and characterization
  • Experience with Tx/Rx equalization techniques and circuits
  • Cross functional team collaboration with respect to system electrical, mechanical, run-time SW and driver.
  • Solid knowledge of IPC and extensive experience on DFM, DFA, DFT, DVT, EVT, pre-compliance, compliance, reliability.

U.S. Salary Range:
$147,000.00 - $202,500.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
