Applied Materials' CTO team is seeking a science / engineering student who is also interested in and knowledgeable of Generative AI tools. The candidate should be able to display an understanding of technologies and processes that are relevant to Applied Materials tools/products. The candidate should understand and be familiar with Generative AI chat tools and how to engineer prompts.
Responsibilities
- Use and test a Generative AI research tool
- Use Materials Science background to engineer prompts to test the tool
- Provide detailed and substantive feedback to development team
- Provide ideas to improve the tool for internal engineers
- Recommend processes for ongoing evaluation and quality control of the AI research tool
- Create engagement plans for broader adoption and use
- Test for usability and and interface design
- Work on other AI projects as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
Student must be currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program at the time of the internship (graduating in December 2025 or later)
Fields of study preferred:
- Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Engineering
- Knowledge and interest in Generative AI tools
Compensation
$42 - $54 per hour
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
