Description
A successful User Studies Registered Nurse will have excellent analytical and communication skills, strong study moderation and project management experience, and will thrive in a high pressure, high performance data-driven organization. Your Responsibilities Include: Applying relevant knowledge and expertise to consult in the design, management and execution of user study projects of increased complexity related to cardiovascular fitness, energy metabolism, biomechanics, measurement/tracking and other key physiological measurements Developing and fostering strong, collaborative cross-functional relationships Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop realistic project plans and schedules, and achieve cross-functional alignment on defining study goals and deliverables Writing technical documents including (but not limited to) study instructions, operating procedures, informed consents and training documents for study personnel Screening, consenting, and preparing individuals for various activities Conducting all aspects of user study execution, to include (but not limited to): enrolling participants, coordinating study visits (including point of care testing, when appropriate),device troubleshooting, and data analysis Scoping possible projects by providing input on budget planning to program/research needs (e.g contractors, equipment, recruitment agencies, etc.) Ensuring protocol adherence is maintained Exercising strong judgment and discretion in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for protocol design and execution Creatively identifying and refining high-throughput study methods, maximizing volume while also protecting data quality, participant experience, and data yield Managing data flow - including, but not limited to, consent storage, data processing/transmission, and documentation for projects Monitoring and assessing individuals during exercise activities, to include (but not limited to) ECG interpretation to determine whether the signs, symptoms, reactions, behavior, or general physical appearance exhibit abnormal characteristics Identifying and responding to urgent or life-threatening situations (including triaging and reporting of Adverse Events) Creating and managing a positive participant experience; able to serve as first and primary point of contact for participants Administering and documenting biometric and anthropometric measurements Handling of confidential information and devices with discretion Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and infection control policies • Assisting with developing safety procedures for exposure to various environments • Collaborating and consulting with staff to optimize safety Documenting relevant health information, observations, and measurements by charting in individual and department electronic records Leading multiple projects, study team members and priorities in a multifaceted, changing environment with minimal direction Delivering clear, concise and timely status reports (to include scope changes and resource requirements) to stakeholders and management; communicates fluidly with colleagues of all levels Delivering presentations to senior management, directors and cross-functional stakeholders Maintaining an active working knowledge of professional publications and current standards Contributing nursing knowledge to the design of products and their testing/validation through user studies Networking with senior internal and external peers in nursing expertise
- Education: Requires MSN, BSN, ADN or Diploma/certificate in Nursing
- Must hold a current Texas state Registered Nurse (RN) license and pass NCLEX-RN
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Possess strong nursing assessment and evaluation skills (including collecting vital signs)
- Strong recognition and interpretation skills of live ECG (electrocardiogram) rhythms
Preferred Qualifications
- Project planning and management experience
- Relevant experience in corporate health and/or consumer product usability evaluation preferred; experience in user behavior is a plus
- Experience with data collection and reporting (including experience with electronic data entry systems)
- Ability to demonstrate problem-solving and initiative in handling multiple projects and/or assignments
- Detail and execution oriented; meticulous, highly organized with strong prioritization and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
