The Apple Maps Quality Team supports maps-wide metrics which provide a complete view of Apple Maps' product quality. We partner with many different engineering teams across our org, ensuring that our reported metrics are based on the highest quality data possible. We are looking for a Tools and Automation Engineer who will be responsible for the delivery and execution of tests used to perform analytics and acceptance/regression testing. Our ultimate goal is shipping a global map experience to millions of users that is the best in class!

Description

In this role, you will be working closely with developers to help test analytics generated on the Maps client-side. You'll develop analysis around product metrics data, and ensure the data meets high quality standards. You will be producing test documents, executing/analyzing, bug triaging, leading testing procedures, leveraging automation and ensuring the success of new feature development. The ideal candidate must also be an effective advocate with strong communication & organizational skills as this role requires close partnership with cross-functional engineering and product teams for highly technical discussions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience comprehensively testing software - Building test plans that encompass test scenarios and account for various tenets of quality such as regression and performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills, with the ability to investigate, debug, and triage difficult problems both independently and cooperatively.
  • Experience in software development methodologies (Agile/Waterfall) and release management.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Comfortable creating automation test plan and test cases using XCTest.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Comfort working in command-line environments, and using command-line tools.
  • Knowledge of common protocols (JSON, Protobuf, REST)

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $117,800 and $205,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
