As the Technical Program Manager for Optical Components, you will engage with supplier engineers and Apple multi-functional teams to develop and deliver core technologies that create new experiences for our customers. We act as a link between Apple Design and supplier manufacturing processes, focusing on the details that produce brilliant products through high-volume manufacturing. It is our responsibility to ensure that all technical risks associated with a product are identified and closed or mitigated to enable a successful ramp.

Description
In this highly visible technical lead role, the Technical Program Manager (TPM) will drive the technical, operational, and quality aspects of the Optical Manufacturing process to ensure the operational success of the entire product introduction cycle through to mass production. Work with suppliers and internal multi-functional teams, exhibiting leadership to drive yield, efficiency, and other target production metrics. - Areas of ownership include factory set-up of associated optical manufacturing, including molding, coating , Assembly, and Test processes - Executive-level status reports including build readiness review, new product review, etc - Drive lessons learned into designs and use predictive methods to anticipate and avoid issues early in the development cycle - Call out key concerns and options timely for resolutions to senior management
- 5+ years of experience in the high-tech industry, with a strong foundation in manufacturing processes.
- BS or MS in a related Engineering discipline.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed, up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in data analysis tools like Tableau, JMP, SPC, DOE, and quality control methods, including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Whys, and FACA.
- Analyze data from factory, customer, field to develop action plans and decisions based on the data by
- Demonstrated leadership in driving problem-solving initiatives, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams to deliver effective solutions, particularly in high-volume production environments.
- Significant experience in introducing products into manufacturing and/or high-volume production, preferably with Asia-based manufacturing suppliers.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a consistent track record of presenting complex information clearly to large cross-functional teams and executives.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills to support project management efforts.
- Self-motivated, with attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to anticipate and address issues early in the development cycle.
- Understanding of optical lens design, processes, and testing, or automation is a plus.
- PhD preferred.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,200 and $227,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
