Description
We're seeking a natural leader with exceptional communication skills and a passion for driving the development of both our instrumentation and products. This individual will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, leading multi-functional teams in the groundbreaking product development process. Your contributions will significantly impact the future products we take great pride in. As a valued member of our organization, you'll have the opportunity to lead the design of a comprehensive and customized system that's crucial to the quality of our products. This role requires annual travel between 5% to 10%. RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage a team of skilled managers and engineers overseeing ongoing factory tests and product development, from prototypes to mass production. - Define product calibration and test strategy to drive test line maturity through all system build phases. Anticipate risks and develop product protection solutions. Adopt a data-driven risk analysis approach. - Showcase creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, global teams in a fast-paced environment. - Communicate product development and calibration/test maturity to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. - Embrace a dynamic, collaborative attitude, fostering a shared vision. Adapt to fast-paced environments, making quick decisions with limited information. Handle pressure and manage challenging situations effectively. - Manage and develop a distributed team, including hiring, mentoring, and providing performance guidance.

Minimum Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical Design, Mechanical Engineering, Physical, Material Sciences, or a relevant engineering major or degree.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering, with a demonstrated track record of strategic planning, execution, and control. 5+ years of experience in employee management and technical leadership.
- Excellent understanding of hardware and software architecture and the interoperability of complex systems. Fundamental electrical engineering knowledge is a prerequisite.
- Experience leading technical projects and a leadership background in technology.
- Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, self-motivation, drive, attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in hardware design and validation involving one or more of the following technologies: Acoustics, Display, Touch, Imaging Sensors, Motion Sensors, Automation
- Experience in hardware and firmware encompasses activities such as bringing up/debugging and validating circuits, as well as circuit design and debugging.
- Engineering leadership: ability to approach problem solving flexibly, cut through ambiguity; use data and prior experience to make and own the hard calls
- Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $200,400 and $358,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
