Description

In this dynamic position, you will coordinate and drive early engagements on product architecture, feature definition and program execution. We are looking for someone who likes to work in a fast paced environment, who is flexible and can respond quickly, energetically, and enthusiastically to dynamic project needs. The EPM will interact with all engineering, design and development support disciplines both within Apple and our external program partners to create exceptional products. - Support system definition and drive closure of architecture and technical opens in the early stages of a project. Establish and manage program feature baseline - Identify and highlight technical risk areas and mitigation strategies in partnership with cross-functional technology teams - Grasp complex technical topics and abstract key issues and risks in an actionable form to upper management - Manage and maintain full-view of system level programs serving as the single point of convergence across sub-systems. - Create and maintain comprehensive program schedule including baseline, cross-functional dependencies and critical path - Manage development budgets and related activities such as purchase orders, change requests, invoicing etc. - Drive key decisions with high level of risk and prioritization - Establish working cross-functional program plan. Identify and handle program cross-functional dependencies and support resolving issues between teams - Communicate development and feasibility needs, establishing milestones for checkpoints and status updates and drive alignment across the organization and between teams - Lead cross-functional teams including EE, PD, Software, Firmware and Operations through program milestones and engineering validation activities - Create comprehensive build plans and drive engineering builds with vendors and CM partners - Deliver regular executive communication/presentations and drive decision alignment across the organization - Identify and drive process efficiencies for new product development with cross-functional teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related disciplines
  • 5+ years of program management experience from early concept phases through production, with exposure to hardware, software, test and infrastructure across both development and manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of consumer electronics system architecture in consumer electronics product development.
  • Strong background in hardware technologies
  • Self motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities; flexible process perspective
  • Identifying critical technical questions and organizing teams to find efficient ways to get answers. Understanding the link between technical decisions for the system and customer experience, and communicating impacts clearly and concisely
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with rapid development cycles
  • History of managing new product development with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Experience as primary point of contact with vendors and CM partners to establish objectives for engineering builds, daily build plans, and provide clear direction and guidance to meet the build and overall program objectives
  • Excellent negotiation, influential, written and oral communication skills to help lead diverse teams and all levels of management.
  • Travel as needed to support engineering builds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with off shore manufacturers and travel to manufacturing sites
  • History of leading business relationships with strategic partners
  • Strong background in software technologies
  • M.S. or MBA is desired
  • Mandarin is desired language skill

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,600 and $236,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
