The Swift Platform Experience team is looking for a highly motivated software engineer to screen, triage and investigate problems reported on the system for iOS, watchOS, tvOS and macOS and to build internal productivity tools. We're a team of helpers, problem solvers, debuggers, and engineers. We work with some of the most talented software engineers in the world, building tools to help them be at their peak productivity. You'll be working directly with the software engineers responsible for the fundamental building blocks of the iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and macOS user experience. Description
As a screener on the Swift Platform Experience team, you will triage incoming bugs, analyze logs, and determine priority of issues. You will be expected to spot emerging issues from bug reports filed by Apple employees and external developers, follow up with bug filers to collect additional information that can help the team debug, test features and fixes, and manage code submissions to multiple build trains. You will gain encyclopedic knowledge of UIKit, SwiftUI, Foundation and Xcode Previews as well as apply that knowledge to engineering design discussions and feature planning. You will drive our day-to-day process around bug and source code management in service of delivering high quality features and improvements to our developers and users. We are looking for an enthusiastic, curious, and technically savvy teammate who can balance a variety of tasks efficiently. - A genuine passion for diagnosing and triaging software issues
- An aptitude for identifying trends and anticipating emerging problems
- Ability to manage and multi-task with a large scale of internal and external feedback
- Familiarity with consumer-facing software development processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and Swift is a plus
- Prior experience with bug tracking systems
- Proficient in interpreting and synthesizing detailed written information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Adept at balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environments
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $107,100 and $178,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
