Description
You will oversee all aspects of our cloud infrastructure quality efforts in close collaboration with our foundational infrastructure partners - Storage, Compute, Traffic & Networking, with a specific emphasis on tooling and automation to test, qualify and release changes to elevate the the quality of our systems. Your key responsibilities include - Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance our portfolio of capabilities, aligning them with Apple's overall business strategy and applying your expertise in infrastructure tooling. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a successful team of engineers, architects, and specialists. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within your organization. Technical Oversight: Provide technical expertise and guidance on testing & release practices for all workloads at various levels of the tech stack, cloud computing architectures, systems design and performance optimization. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of these platforms. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with partner teams, including SRE, product management, program management and customer support, to deliver exceptional customer experiences and deliver optimized solutions. Project Management: Lead complex projects, including major initiatives and product launches, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and standard methodologies in cloud computing. Protect our intellectual property and ensure compliance with data protection regulations. To be successful you should be self-motivated, flexible in your approach, and exude tight-knit collaboration skills, including the ability to mentor and be mentored. Creativity, innovation and a persistent drive for result will be required to design user experiences for tools that have no parallel. We are looking for a standout colleague who is able to take on challenges under tight deadline constraints and deliver imaginative solutions to complex problems.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall industry experience with 3+ years building & leading high-performing research & engineering teams with a focus on on cloud computing
- Strong infrastructure development knowledge and experience
- Experience coding and building components of Kubernetes/VMs/Networking/Storage layers
- Experience developing end-to-end infrastructure testing and/or configuration management frameworks
- Programming in languages such as Golang, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc
- Proven ability to self-start, learn, plan, prioritize and deliver to deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Experience working with open source projects
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $208,300 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
