Description

Are you passionate about Quality Engineering, data analysis, and solving some of the world's most sophisticated problems? Join the dynamic Sustaining Product Quality Engineering team! We partner closely with Engineering, Operations, and AppleCare teams to ensure our customers continue to have the best experience possible! • Own and drive key quality metrics for all sustaining programs • Bring up strategic manufacturing sites across different geographies with OEM partners • Plan field readiness for new product launch partnering with AppleCare and engineering, including planning and driving Early Field Failure Analysis (EFFA) • Monitor customer experience metrics in the field, quality metrics at OEM sites, and work on quality critical issues • Collect and analyze data to identify emerging quality issues, and assess impact of corrective actions • Lead weekly Quality Improvement Forums to drive ongoing product improvements with multi-functional partners including Manufacturing, AppleCare, and Engineering teams • Lead critical quality issues investigations, technical failure analysis to support root cause analysis, failure replication, and issue resolution • Drive design, process, and reliability test improvements to improve warranty return rate • Provide sustaining quality data insights to cross functional teams to support new product baseline, design/process/test improvements, and perform reliability risk assessments • Conduct periodic reviews of Field/Factory Quality Data with OEM partners • Generate Product Health summaries on a regular basis • Provide regular VP level communication of product quality • Develop automated data reporting tools for internal and cross-functional communication • Ensure operational technical readiness for all phases of the introduction cycle, including driving contract manufacturer preparation for pre-production builds • Support and attend product development builds as required • Ability to travel internationally (~20%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, field quality, and/or development of new products

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in Mechanical, Industrial, Systems Engineering or equivalent
  • Technical systems knowledge related to electronics and mechanical assembly
  • Broad software knowledge (OS & test related)
  • Knowledgeable in data analysis and interpretation ; Tableau scripting and JMP scripting knowledge is preferred
  • Proven experience in Quality Engineering, Reliability, and Failure Analysis.
  • Experience partnering with international contract manufacturers in mass production; experience traveling to manufacturing sites
  • Clear and consistent communication, including exec level presentation skills
  • Must be a self starter with innovation, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Project management experience
  • Outstanding communications skills

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $122,300 and $227,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
