Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino , California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Plan worldwide AppleCare inventory for iPad or iPhone parts and execute weekly new buy and repair decisions for customer repairs/replacement. Identify gaps in the supply plan based on demand forecast and on-hand inventory. Recommend Purchase Order quantities for gaps identified and execute on these Purchase orders (PO). Plan the inventory levels not to exceed approved thresholds but at the same time minimize customer backlog and meet service level targets. Provide supply planning directions to the team of regional planners to formulate weekly build plans, priorities, and regional purchase recommendations. Set planning parameters such as Lower Level Bound and Upper Level Bounds for inventory threshold, Capacity constraints, Part mapping, Materials constraints, Minimum Stocking Levels, Statistical Safety Stock levels, Factory Yields, Supply Strategies, Lead time, Target Weeks of Stock, Product costing, and Optimizing Cost Penalties. Optimize inventory while minimizing inventory buy costs and maximizing repairs to improve Inventory turns while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Provide Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) production prioritization for future builds based on supply plans by providing guidance to OEMs to build for regions with higher demand. Provides guidance to OEMs for immediate short-term needs as well as long-term requirements. Provide OEMs with a weekly updated forecast for the next 6 months of supply requirements. Track key performance metrics such as Fill Rate, Backlog, Weeks of Supply, and forecast accuracy. Review CTB (Clear to build) and secure allocation of material with shortage from different teams and suppliers to reduce on-hand inventory and leverage the supplier's ability to build just in time. Review weekly demand trends with the demand planning team to plan for churn. Generate financial guidance and forecast for future quarters. Review Spend vs Budget. Identify inventory opportunities for AppleCare business such as Seed Stock to third parties and excess inventory for refurbished and as is sales. 10% International & Domestic Travel Required. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $122,976 - $167,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Operation Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 2 years of experience in each of the following skills:
  • Utilizing historical data and market trends to predict future demand for similar products
  • Utilizing statistical forecasting methods such as time series analysis, moving averages, or exponential smoothing to generate demand forecasts
  • Identifying seasonality patterns for future forecasts
  • Using inventory optimization techniques for inventory management such as safety stock management, replenishment management, minimum stocking levels, excess and obsolete
  • reviews
  • Implementing inventory cost savings initiatives such as alternative sourcing strategy and minimizing expenditure
  • Generating weekly supply plans aligned with organization targets for inventory turns and customer service levels
  • Monitoring KPIs (Key performance indicators) such as Fill Rate, Inventory Turns, Weeks of Supply, Customer backlog
  • Reviewing Clear-to-Build and manufacturing capacities to identify potential supply chain disruptions proactively
  • Building supply chain models to account for the impact of demand, supply, and/or lead times
  • Managing product master data, supply strategy, maintaining country of origin and product sourcing strategy based on country of origin eligibility
  • Using sophisticated inventory planning or optimizing or ERP tools such as Oracle Demantra, SAP, or JDA
  • Analyzing large datasets using statistical analysis tools such as Excel, R, Python, or SQL to manipulate data efficiently and derive actionable insights from it
  • Leverage data analytics and optimization techniques to analyze system parameters such as safety stock levels, lead times, and order quantities
  • Generate a short term and long-term guidance to Original Equipment Manufacturers that drive the procurement of raw materials, components, and finished goods from suppliers
  • Identifying potential bottlenecks, optimizing resource utilization, and making strategic investments in capacity expansion or optimization to support business growth and capacity planning
