Description

This role involves designing and implementing robust frameworks to build scalable and efficient solutions that ensure the ethical, secure, and compliant use of the iCloud Data Platform at Apple. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging their technical expertise to uphold the integrity, privacy, and security of iCloud Data initiatives, while ensuring completeness of data ingestion, full data processing, and compliance with complex regulatory environments. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of the system, optimizing it for efficiency and security, and resolving any issues that arise. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology at Apple, bridging technical innovation and compliance, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that responsibly manage Apple Data Platform technologies throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in software development, experience with public cloud platforms, and familiarity with distributed databases.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering with deep knowledge in computer science fundamentals.
  • Strong in data structures and algorithms. Must write good quality code with test cases and review PR's in fast faced environment.
  • Fluent in writing code using Python
  • Extensive experience enabling ingestion ETL pipelines
  • Expert in one or more functional or object-oriented programming languages (Scala, Java)
  • Experience or knowledge in distributed data systems like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka or Flink.
  • Strong collaboration and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or knowledge in public cloud is a big plus, preferably AWS.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
