Open source software is at the heart of Apple platforms and developer tools. We are looking for a software engineer to join our passionate, collaborative, distributed team. The Open Source Program Office is focused on enabling use, contributions, adoption, and release of open source software at Apple. We partner Apple-wide to support open source strategy and operations. Our responsibilities include streamlining and automating open source workflows, educating teams, supporting project growth, and gathering and reporting metrics. • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience
• Strong track record of contributing to and engaging with open source projects
• Experience writing applications in multiple programming languages (e.g. Swift, Javascript, Python, etc)
• Experience operating and developing infrastructure and services in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience with open source tools such as GitHub, package managers, and CI systems

• Experience collecting high-level requirements and translating them into reliable high-performance solutions
• Experience integrating systems and automating workflows using API-oriented approaches
• Self-driven, able to work autonomously as part of an asynchronous and distributed team
• Ability to work iteratively, triage issues reported by others, make quality technical recommendations, and write clear documentation
• Empathetic and collaborative
• Ability to mentor and be mentored

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
