Description
The Access/Car Keys Engineering team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who loves tackling complex challenges around digital access, security, and authentication at global scale. IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL: - Architect and develop highly scalable, distributed backend systems supporting Apple Wallet's digital access and car key solutions. - Build secure, performant APIs integrating seamlessly with third-party access control systems. - Collaborate closely with hardware, security, product, and UI teams to deliver flawless user experiences. - Mentor and support engineers, encouraging a culture of technical perfection and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications
- We are looking for 7+ years of backend software engineering experience with languages like Java
- Experience building scalable, distributed systems and APIs
- Expertise in concurrency, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka)
- Experience with Relational and NoSQL Databases
- Experience authoring and supporting web services
- BS degree in computer science or equivalent field
Preferred Qualifications
- MS degree plus 4-5 years of software development experience or equivalent experience
- Experience/understanding of security and cryptography
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
