The PPO-Test team features a collaborative environment with highly creative, inquisitive people developing technologies and solutions to test display and sensing modules for various Apple products and new technologies. Our team features opportunities for individuals to contribute across a wide spectrum of subject areas and product lines. Partnering closely with product design team, and optics, electrical and software engineering to deliver outstanding products and ground breaking technologies! Join us as a Mechanical Engineer owning the design, development and deployment of test systems for touch, sensing and display modules for mass production. The role involves working closely with the product design teams to support the entire gamut of Apple products and new technologies.

Description

- Drive, end-to-end mechanical design of stand-alone functional test systems - Work with multi-functional teams for test system development & deployment - Design systems for automation integration & high-volume production environments - Develop system requirements, perform detailed analysis & testing - Apply engineering knowhow in the areas of optics, precision mechanism design & motion control - Apply scientific methods esting to debug issues and implement robust solutions. - Document best practices, SOPs and maintain a library of proven designs - International travel required

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering minimum with 10 years of mechanical system design experience (tool, fixture, mechatronics, electronics packaging, Or optics)
  • 3+ years of 3D CAD experience (NX, Solid works, or Pro/E)
  • Experience with drafting & GD&T practices
  • Experience with analysis: FEA, Tolerance stackup, Error budget, or RCA

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience, or MS in Mechanical Engineering 5+ years of opto-mechanical system design (cameraoptical mounts, kinematic mounts, compliant mechanism design)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods (precision machining, heat treatments etc.)
  • Experience in crafting stand-alone functional test stations
  • Experience in design of high precision mechanisms & motion control systems
  • Experience in designing for low particle environments/cleanrooms
  • Knowledge of machine/computer vision systems
  • Knowledge of optical system integration, alignment and stability testing
  • Knowledge of robotics, automation and wafer/DUT handling systems

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
