Our SRE team is seeking a dynamic and passionate Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to drive projects that support Apple's most critical cloud services used by millions of customers daily. As part of the Apple Services Engineering team, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of talented engineers to build and improve cutting-edge cloud infrastructure, including Elastic Compute and Kubernetes solutions, which power many of Apple's backend systems and applications. You'll lead the charge in delivering innovative products and features that surprise and delight internal customers while ensuring extraordinary service availability, scalability, and security. With ambitious goals and a fast-paced environment, our team focuses on defining standards, implementing best practices, and enhancing operational efficiency to deliver infrastructure that scales globally and "just works."

Description

We're looking for a proactive, highly organized individual with excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate complex, multi-location projects with many interdependencies. You'll thrive on non-routine work that requires social intelligence, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. A strong background in program and project management, paired with technical expertise, is essential. As an EPM, you'll have the opportunity to partner with teams across Apple to build infrastructure at a significant scale, leveraging both open-source and proprietary systems. If you're ready to help shape the future of Apple's Compute infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you. Occasional travel required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years proven experience in technical program management in software development for Site Reliability Engineering / DevOps / Infrastructure domains
  • Experience leading Cloud native Infrastructure programs.
  • Experience running Cloud and Infrastructure projects.
  • Experience at end to end project delivery; building roadmaps through to operational sustainability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Compute domain (container, elastic instances) is a plus
  • Past experience with deployments to AWS / Kubernetes platforms would be a plus
  • Experience with driving programs with Agile/Scrum project management practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal, project management, and technical skills
  • Proficiency and experience in delivering large scale infrastructure projects
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to represent at all levels of the organization
  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
