As part of our Camera Technologies group, you'll help design the innovative technology that allows each generation of Apple products to produce photos even more incredible than the last. You'll design and develop groundbreaking ideas for everything involved in our camera systems, from sensor to lens. You'll collaborate with teams across Apple to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. Together, we'll craft a magical photography experience that redefines what millions of customers can expect from their cameras. The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for the design, development, and innovation of camera hardware for all related Apple products. This covers RGB wide, ultra-wide, & tele rear cameras as well as the "selfie" front camera. Additionally, we support rear depth sensing as well as the "face ID" front sensing modules. Our target is to deliver superior camera hardware to enable best-in-class camera user experience. Description
- Identify/develop the scalable solution to enhance the overall end-2-end flow (design / validation / simulation / test / FACA). This includes but not limited to introducing new HW platform, SW solution and automation to streamline the data pipeline, and boost the overall efficiency. - Drive X-functional initiatives to come up the test spec/standards from component to module, make the entire process smooth and highly integrated. - Ensuring thorough coverage and data validity to meet Apple high standards and across apple supply chain eco-systems. - Leading the analysis of high volume data across various product lines, manufacturing sites and build configs. To provide instrumental distribution, trend, correlation, failure pattern and root cause analysis. Use data visualization and advanced analytics to gain insights and elevated productivity. - As a strong liaison of multiple-geographical teams, facilitating smooth information flow and alignment, removing roadblocks, fostering seamless collaboration.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSEE in Electrical Engineering or relevant field, and a minimum of 20 years experience
- Background in high volume production, and end-to-end electrical engineering flow, from component level all the way to system integration and MP.
- Experience in system architecture, detailed design, simulation, validation, test, data analysis and FA.
- Experience spanning on multiple nodes including material supplier, subassembly contract manufacturer, module integrator, or FATP.
- Knowledge in database management and data warehousing
Preferred Qualifications
- MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or relevant industry experience in consumer electronics
- Strong leadership with a proven ability to build and motivate highly skillful teams
- Superior project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proactive problem-solver with exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to facility X-functional teamwork.
- Demonstrated history of overseeing and coordinating with internal teams, external contract manufactures, and third-party vendors, over multiple geographic locations.
- Good knowledge on camera module structure, electrical design and SIPI/EM/IQ testing methodologies.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
