Description

Our Creativity Apps team is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with a proven track record of building mission-critical, high-performance backend systems. Our team is composed of a close-knit, highly collaborative group of engineers who are committed to excellence throughout the entire product lifecycle. We want team members with extensive hands-on experience in developing and enhancing backend pipelines and services, familiar with client-server communication protocol and have a strong background in designing highly scalable systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and bring a strategic approach to both technical innovation and system scalability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline
  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in shipping scalable, maintainable, and testable backend systems
  • Expertise in Java and Spring
  • Extensive experience working with NoSQL data stores such as Cassandra and Solr
  • Experience with message or event driven architectures (such as Kafka)
  • Experience delivering high quality software at scale
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize complex systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with partner teams
  • Committed to encouraging an open and inclusive work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving as a technical lead, and designing and building backend services for large scale systems while demonstrating the ability to articulate technical concepts
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git, and CI/CD tools (such as Jenkins), and build tools (such as Gradle and Bazel)
  • Prioritizes unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as part of development

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
