Description
In the Sr Art Director role, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of interactive digital experiences that engage and support our customers through their Apple customer journey. This position requires a proven track record of visual design and art direction for the web and iOS devices, particularly for the marketing and commerce of major brands online and in-stores; a strong knowledge of interactive creative development processes; and experience developing creative solutions with a relatively high level of autonomy. You'll oversee medium to large sized projects and present the work to Creative Directors and cross-functional partners. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Leads and directs the execution of an interactive project and presents persuasively and clearly to partners, effectively articulating design rationale. - Develops innovative and on-strategy designs and experiences, which are highly resolved from a formal perspective and which meet the objectives of the assignment. - Solves problems conceptually in collaboration with the broader interactive team, including writers, visual designers, UX designers, creative technologists, developers and other cross-functional partners. - Regularly reviews creative work with the group's senior creative staff to get feedback on direction and to confirm that work is aligned with other activities in the group.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 10 years relevant experience specializing in user interface design and design systems for the web and apps.
- Knowledge of the creative process including typical time and resources needed to produce with efficiency quality work on time, and to specification.
- A portfolio that showcases strategic insight and visual design talent for a range of digital experiences and interfaces including web, mobile, and/or apps.
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent design and conceptual skills accompanied by the ability to guide, evaluate, and redirect creative development when necessary
- Skilled with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch. Experience with motion, prototyping and 3D software is a plus.
- Strong strategic and design thinking, and validated expertise in content strategy, system design, usability, and analytics.
- Strong communicator with exceptional presentation and diplomatic skills. Able to actively engage in healthy debate with stakeholders.
- Experience defining the product vision and customer experience for a digital product or service.
- Has provided thoughtful guidance to junior creative staff, with an eye on mentorship and development.
- A collaborator and mentor who thrives in a group environment and knows how to bring out the best in the team - design, copy, UX, and development.
- Willing to take risks, fail, and learn from mistakes.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $179,000 and $269,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
