Description

In this role you will lead a team of 5-8 software engineers in the development of internal software used across the AppleCare organization. Our team builds tools used across our contact center and service teams along with an employee development platform. Responsibilities include: Lead a high-performing team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous growth. Uphold Apple and industry-best practices in software engineering, including coding standards, testing methodologies, and documentation, to drive a culture of continuous improvement. Partner with product managers, designers, and other engineering leaders to define product roadmaps, set goals, and develop innovative software solutions. Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software solutions aligned with business priorities and customer needs. Provide coaching, guidance, and clear priorities for your team while ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed. Communicate progress, risks, and challenges effectively to senior leadership and stakeholders. Collaborate with other engineering teams across Apple to ensure seamless integration of software, delivering the best possible solutions to our customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of people management experience or equivalent experience as a Lead responsible for coaching and development of junior software engineers in the AppleCare organization
  • 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience in a corporate environment
  • 2+ years experience with internal frameworks used in the AppleCare Technologies Engineering team, eg. MSE6, ACRBI tool suite or Maestro API
  • Experience in people management, either in a leadership role or through successful delivery of a product/project.
  • Technical acumen with expertise in software design, algorithms and the infrastructure associated with delivering software services.
  • Deep understanding of various software development lifecycle (SDLC) models and the ability to apply them effectively to drive delivery.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to build deep customer relationships, offer help and partner organically.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands on experience in the following technologies: Ruby on Rails, PHP Laravel, Javascript/NextJS, Swift, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, prioritization, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
