Our team is responsible for a variety of products and features in the location and motion space including AirTag, geofencing, historical and predicted locations and context, AirPods setup, Auto Unlock, etc. We also work on some personal safety features including Check In and Unwanted Tracking protections. We have an opening for a software engineering manager for our small but growing team.
Description
The Proximity and Context team is actively looking for a highly-motivated and experienced software engineering manager to lead our team. Due to the cross-functional nature of our work, the ideal candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills to work well with a large variety of people within Apple. The candidate also must be technically strong, have a strong track record of managing projects, and experience shipping software. The candidate needs to show initiative, take ownership of a number of technical areas, and assume responsibility for leading all the related aspects that need to be coordinated to achieve success. The candidate should also be able to make intelligent choices when taking into consideration product-level constraints on system performance, privacy, security, and power. Most importantly, you love working with people, supporting those around you, and mentoring and growing engineers.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or similar area
- Experience and passion for managing a small team
- Strong track record of running and shipping SW projects
- Possess excellent analytical, programming, and debugging skills
- Have in-depth knowledge of C++, Objective-C, or Swift

- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of location, context, and/or motion space helpful
- Succeed in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate while deftly driving multiple projects across many teams
- Laser-focused on customer impact with attention to the smallest details that are meaningful to our customers
- Obsessively passionate and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
