Do you have experience taking an idea from the whiteboard to production, and scaling it? Our team enables the mass creation of impossible products as a partner in the development of Apple's renowned designs! We are looking for a Software Engineer with deep experience in manufacturing and quality to work with our team to develop the next generation of workflows to manage quality for mechanical components and systems. Some solutions will be standalone while others will be built on top of existing systems through deep collaboration with multifunctional teams. - Study the workflows of the current Manufacturing Quality Engineering team and how they go about their daily work - Understand the most beneficial activities and those that are less value-added - Work with leadership and Manufacturing Quality team members to rewrite our workflows to streamline the less important tasks, and to boost the time spent on activities that add value - Socialize with other software organizations within Apple to understand platforms and tools available for use to develop and implement future work streams

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations, New Product Development, and Supply Chain
  • Expert level grasp of at least 1 modern programming language (Python, Go, Java)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building robust HTTP APIs and backend services
  • Experience building solutions that leverage API's from the latest LLMs.
  • Experience with model pipeline and registry tools, detecting and preventing model drift, automating model monitoring, and ensuring model accuracy
  • Experience building robust evaluations for prompt optimization and tuning ML workflows
  • Experience with RAG and modern model in context learning techniques
  • Experience with SQL and database systems such as PostgreSQL
  • Experience with building ETL pipeline in data warehouse such as Snowflake

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
