Apple is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to develop world class privacy focussed platform services that enables many product features and privacy preserving experiences including iCloud Private Relay, Apple Intelligence, Private Cloud Compute enabling private inferencing, private authentication and more. You'll collaborate closely with various cross-functional teams to deliver key offerings that enable the next generation of Apple Intelligence features. You will be able to build planet scale services with strong background in distributed systems, network protocols, understanding of client-server architectures, ability to disambiguate problems, engineer scalable solutions and writing high-performance code. You will be part of a small team with high visibility, you'll have ample opportunities to make significant impact both on features products and services across Apple and to our customers. Description
We are a high-leverage team designing, building, and growing Apple's foundational privacy-focused platform enabling many of Apple's signature apps and experiences. Our work impacts over a billion users and is essential to the success of Apple's growth in services and our Apple Intelligence roadmap. As part of the Apple Cloud Platform organization, you will: - Partner with teams across Apple to develop features and functionality to enable new experiences in the Apple ecosystem - Improve the scalability, availability, and performance of our services - Evolve the design and architecture to support continued growth across multiple dimensions - Partner with SRE to triage, investigate, and remediate production issues
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience
- Experienced: designing, implementing, and operating highly scalable web services
- Resourceful: excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Collaborative: you excel in a multi-functional organization through clear communication, consistent delivery, and relationship building
- Curious: the desire and ability to independently learn
- Self-directed: the ability to drive a project from a simple idea to production
- User-focused: the user experience and the privacy of data come first
- Leadership: you are able to leverage individual abilities to produce results
Preferred Qualifications
- Languages: Java, or similar object oriented languages
- Technology: Kubernetes, Cassandra
- Knowledge: Privacy, Security, Cryptography, Distributed Systems, Networking
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
