Description
The Apple Newsroom team is seeking a dedicated and versatile Editorial & Social Media Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with a passion for crafting compelling narratives across multiple platforms. This role combines the ability to produce high-quality, premium editorial content, with the creativity and agility to write engaging, platform-specific copy for social media. The role involves crafting timely copy for social media content in partnership with the Apple Newsroom creative team. This role requires someone who is meticulous, organized, collaborative, and a frequent user of a variety of social platforms. DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Writing clear, engaging, and well-researched editorial content for Apple Newsroom's channels Developing concise, compelling, and on-brand copy for social media platforms, including captions, posts, voiceover and video scripts, and copy for multimedia assets Collaborating with Newsroom Creative teams and Worldwide Communications partners to identify and execute social media storytelling opportunities Leveraging platform trends to optimize social media content that will drive engagement, build brand awareness, and attract followers Participating in brainstorming sessions to pitch ideas, inform editorial calendars, and contribute to content strategy Writing optimized content for search engines, using strategic keywords Ensuring all content aligns with the brand's tone, style, and messaging guidelines Working outside normal business hours as needed, including some evenings and weekends Staying up to date on social media trends, audience preferences, and standard processes to advise broader Newsroom team and keep content fresh and relevant
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as an editorial writer, copywriter, or similar role developing social media content for brands
- Provide a portfolio showcasing a range of editorial pieces and social media copy
- Experience drafting short- and long-form editorial stories
- Proven familiarity with Instagram and other visually driven social media platforms
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems
- Ability to work quickly and decisively within aggressive timeframes
- A willingness to adapt and modify your approach, without compromising on the outcome
- Capacity to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
- Knowledge of AP and Chicago style guidelines
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,100 and $216,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
