Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer who has the skills and experience to support Apple's cloud infrastructure. This role will be heavily involved in driving key goals in the areas of automation, process improvement/standardization, technical development, monitoring, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Include: Directly support customers of various platform services, working cross functionally with SRE, QA, Development and others to investigate and resolve customer issues. Troubleshoot, isolate and resolve container orchestration/management issues, specifically Docker, Kubernetes and Mesos. Develop customer facing product documentation as well as internally facing documentation/procedural runbooks. Work with Engineering teams to deploy/migrate/upgrade applications. Participate in DevOps project brainstorming, design, implementation, and test phases to deliver effective solutions. Execute and deliver on goals and initiatives Monitor server and application performance, resource utilization and security/compliance. Configure, manage and troubleshoot various Configuration Management tools, such as Puppet, Chef, etc. Recognize, identify and respond to failure trends due to hardware, software or configurations to assist or isolate a potentially larger problem. Configure, manage and troubleshoot load balancing technologies on both Appliances or Built as a service on various hardware platforms. Configure, manage and troubleshoot Virtual technologies, such as VMWare, KVM, XEN, etc. Manage Virtual environments with the use of UI interfaces, such as VC, DCUI, CLI, etc. Configure, manage and troubleshoot VMWare technologies, such as vSphere: vMotion, vCenter, vSwitch, HA, Fault Tolerance, Virtual Data Centers, Snapshots, etc. Languages: Python, Shell, Java Script, HTML, CSS, Ruby, GO
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years Linux/UNIX systems administration in medium to large environments - strong knowledge of Red Hat-based Linux (RHCSE certificate preferred)
- 3+ years of system administration in cloud stack or VMware environments
- 3+ years of container orchestration and management technologies - Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, CRI-O, ContainerD (CKA and CKD certificate preferred)
- Public cloud experience (AWS certificate preferred)
- 3+ years of support or equivalent experience including a customer facing or customer support role
- 3+ years of experience with configuration/Version Management Tools: Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Git
