Description

The iCloud Services organization is comprised of reliability engineers, software developers, and production engineers that all work together to make iCloud a delight for our customers. This position focuses broadly across a large number of varied teams to keep our systems available and moving forward. It requires an engineer with a broad set of technical skills and expertise in systems, organizations, and communication. They need to seamlessly move between difficult engineering problems, project deadlines, organizational communication, and collaboration. Our best candidates understand that complex socio-technical systems require a breadth of technical expertise, an understanding of the people that bring them to life, and comprehension of the organization's needs. We're looking for a creative, versatile, and passionate person who loves solving engineering problems and working broadly across a fast moving and collaborative organization.   • 5+ years of software development or production operations experience in a large-scale environment
  • Experience in a wide variety of technical areas including Linux, Networking, Systems Management, Software Development, and Systems Security
  • SRE Principles - Skills and experience in monitoring, alerting, error budgets, fault analysis, and automation
  • Broad leadership and partnership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, allergy to ambiguity, and a firm grip on deadlines
  • Experience in improving the whole lifecycle of global services from inception through deployment, operations, and refinement
  • Experience in managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • A strong collaborator who is generous with their knowledge
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
