The SWE (Software Engineering) Data Analytics team at Apple collects, processes, and analyzes diagnostics and telemetry data from Apple devices across the world. Understanding, cataloguing and tracking this data and its use through its lifecycles is a critical part of that work. The Data Governance team within Data Analyics develops and owns the sytems responsible for making sure our internal and external committments to user privacy, security, and compliance are met with regard to the data we collect. In this role you'll be a key member of the team which develops software, collaborates with our data engineering, Privacy and Legal teams, in addition to working with the teams creating and managing the datasets themselves.

You'll work with multi-discpline team of software engineers building the data governance solution for Apple Software Engineering. You'll create UI, API and reporting components which allow all stakeholders to successfully update, interrogate and audit data governance metadata. This role is critical to all of SWE and directly impacts its ability to ensure Apple is meeting its goals around Privacy, Compliance and Security.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years experience developing backend API and other services in languages such as Java, Scala, Ruby or Go
- Ability to design well thought out data models for business use cases
- Superior communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Software development experience developing web applications in TypeScript or
- JavaScript with modern libraries and frameworks
- Experience developing data governance software or integrating systems with a data governance system
- Experience working with large data collection and processing systems, and distributed systems
- Excellent debugging, problem solving and analytical skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,700 and $174,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
