The Apple Maps Search team is looking for a software engineer to help build large-scale systems and business integrations, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and user experience. You will join a hardworking and impactful engineering team that power places and geospatial data serving for Apple Maps and across Apple Ecosystems.

Description

As a member of this team you will be contributing to both platform and product. You will have opportunities to shape the new functionalities in Maps and to innovate on the platform/infrastructure to build elegant solutions. We partner with product, design, data and client teams to build features for users across the Apple ecosystem. We also develop the platform with Hadoop/Spark data build pipelines, Kafka streaming, high volume low latency serving stack, and a high performant distributed data layer.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software development in Java or C++
  • Strong Experience in building high volume, low latency, scalable distributed systems.
  • Strong Experience in software design and architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to work with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain knowledge in geo spatial data
  • Experience in ML infrastructure
  • Experience in building user facing products with ML techniques

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
