The Intelligence Platform team empowers clients across Apple's operating systems with high quality user-centric knowledge and inferences that enable next generation user experiences. We're a systems engineering team focused on building the platform which enables state of the art technologies like generative AI, graph machine learning, and private learning to be used by hundreds of teams across Apple. This platform plays a critical role in the OS, acting as a central nervous system that is responsible for receiving, processing, responding to, and remembering crucial information. We are looking for an accomplished and driven senior software engineer with a background in designing large systems around Machine Learning, Large Language Models, and Generative AI. Your primary role will be designing and building the platform for teams across Apple used to bring intelligence to their applications and services. Your ideas will power next generation features, and impact hundreds of millions of people worldwide in their daily lives!

Description

As a Senior Engineer on the Intelligence Platform Team, you'll join a phenomenal team of hardworking engineers and will be entrusted with a range of responsibilities. Your work will include: Collaborating with teams across Apple on training, qualifying, deploying, and serving models; designing and refining systems and APIs for Machine Learning and Generative AI; understanding and adapting new model architectures to constraints of their execution environments; working with leadership across Apple to define policy. You will be responsible for bringing industry leading research to hundreds of millions of people using Apple products every day.

Key Qualifications

  • Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills
  • Background architecting and building data or machine learning platforms
  • Experience building on LLMs or other generative models
  • Proven ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply cutting-edge research into tangible applications.
  • Deep understanding of multi-threaded programming and synchronization.
  • Experience building production feature engineering pipelines a plus
  • Experience with distributed data systems a plus
  • Experience with macOS/iOS development is a plus

Education & Experience

B.S in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
