Join the Edge Services team as a reliability engineer proficient with Linux systems internals and practical knowledge of network fundamentals of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP, to help architect, build, and run Apple services that serve millions users around the world. The ideal candidate has experience running large scale production systems, has deep understanding of the Linux Operating System, and is proficient with developing automation tools. In this role, you will be responsible for providing the computing platform for Edge Content Delivery Networks (CDN), Domain Name Servers (DNS), and Load Balancing solutions to maintain constant uptime, scale seamlessly, and allow for new applications and services to thrive. A can-do attitude, passion for technology, demonstration of leadership, collaboration with others, and effective communication is critical to success in this role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in Enterprise Linux systems administration and operating system fundamentals, including configuration, automated provisioning, and monitoring.
  • Experience with configuration management tools, such as: Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, Ansible
  • Experience with systems automation using Python, BASH, Go etc
  • Experience working with development tools (GIT, CI/CD Tools, Jenkins, Artificatory etc).
  • Practical understanding of network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP)
  • Good troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a leading a team of engineers.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience.
  • Ability to write software tools & services needed to build and operate a large scale platforms.
  • Ability to solve issues across the entire infrastructure stack.
  • Experience with Linux system virtualization (Libvirt, QEMU, KVM, etc).
  • Ability to think globally/creatively, turn information into effective strategies, and drive results.
