We are looking for a highly-skilled Senior Engineering Manager to lead the failure analysis lab teams in Santa Clara Valley, California and Cork, Ireland.

Description

- Lead teams of highly technical failure analysis engineers and managers by providing guidance and mentorship on lab strategies and goals. - Oversee the investigation of products and materials using a wide variety of analytical techniques and dive deep into complex issues to identify the root cause of failure. - Represent the failure analysis team in key executive review meetings by providing regular updates on and impact from major findings. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, quality, reliability and operations to address failures and implement corrective actions. - Lead the charge on global lab collaboration by cooperating with other senior lab managers and failure analysis leadership to establish strategic direction and objectives. - Work closely with team leads from other internal laboratories to share and redistribute projects to lower overall turnaround times without impacting analysis quality. - Develop new failure analysis methodologies and techniques to address emerging characterization needs while staying up-to-date with the latest analytical technologies and best known practices. - Provide team with leadership that ensures compliance with all relevant lab environmental, health and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with analyzing complex failures in microelectronic products.
  • Strong technical background with some hands-on experience in various failure analysis techniques (e.g., SEM/EDS, X-ray, FIB, TEM, FTIR, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to apply understanding of advantages and limitations of FA tools to follow the best course of action to determine root cause
  • Ability to convey complex data sets from multiple sources into a concise and understandable form
  • Experience with reliability testing methodologies is a plus.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
