Our SRE team is looking for a dynamic EPM to help build and run services that millions of customers use every day. We are looking for star performers to drive projects for various areas of Apple Cloud Infrastructure. You'll be partnered with a team whose mission it is to build, maintain and improve Apple's most critical cloud services. Description
Data Platform team, as part of the Apple Services Engineering team, is seeking an extraordinary engineering program manager (EPM) to deliver innovative product solutions that will shape the future of large scale infrastructure at Apple. You'll partner with a diverse set of teams across Apple to provide them with groundbreaking infrastructure that operates at substantial scale and use open source technologies such as Kubernetes along with proprietary systems. We're a fast paced organization with high-reaching goals, a large user base, and the autonomy to build the future of native Cloud infrastructure for all of Apple. Teams across Apple rely on us for infrastructure that help them build services that scale globally, are highly available, and "just work". We listen to different perspectives, help surface innovative ideas, and drive decisions that move us forward. You'll need a strong background in program and project management complemented by your technical abilities.
- 8-10 years proven experience in technical project management in software development for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) / DevOps / Infrastructure domains.
- Experience leading Cloud native Infrastructure programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and technical acumen.
- Past experience with deployments to AWS / Kubernetes platforms would be a plus.
- Agile project experience or SCRUM background and/or played the role of a Scrum Master.
- Experience at prioritizing features and technical road maps.
- Proficiency and experience in delivering large scale infrastructure projects.
- Process re-engineering experience.
- Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous end to end infrastructure, technical projects and stakeholder communities comprised of various engineering teams and their partners.
- Able to drive cross-functional project dependencies, and at times, multiple projects in parallel.
- Data governance and data integrity experience.
- Experience in end to end project delivery; building roadmaps through to operational sustainability.
- Understanding of emerging concepts like machine learning and predictive analytics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to represent at all levels of the organization.
- Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings).
- Knowledge of Spark / EKS / Data Warehouse / Big Data Technologies etc.
- Manage SRE-centric efforts across independent functional teams comprised of software development, systems engineering, network, tooling, monitoring, & capacity teams.
- Experience in data pipelines, and data migration projects across data centers or platforms from or to public cloud.
- Able to qualify the project and data migration cost moving IN / OUT of 3PC.
- Build / Support / Operational value of Data Platform Build across Data warehousing / Big Data technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related professional experience
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
