Apple's WW Channel Strategy & Operations (CSO) organization focuses on developing and deploying worldwide sales programs and best practices to deliver an extraordinary customer experience in the channel and drive Apple Channel sales. With deep functional expertise in digital, physical, and people enablement spaces, our WW CSO team closely collaborates with many cross-functional groups at world-wide and regional levels. We are seeking a highly experienced Digital Content Automation Engineer to join our Worldwide CSO Technology team. In this role, you will drive automation across key digital content processes and serve as a key resource for short-term and long-term deliverables for our content technology roadmap. You will drive step-by-step operational automation enhancements during Apple's new product introduction (NPI) events and partner cross-functionally to deliver multi-year digital content sourcing, enhancement, and distribution architectures and engineering processes. You will also explore generative AI digital content workflow tools and capabilities to support digital content automation and partner with cross-functional AI/ML engineering teams to implement these capabilities. Description
In this role, you will: - Build, develop, automate, and launch a new digital content regionalization system and a new universal taxonomy tool set connected to other internal systems. - Work with large, unstructured digital content data sets, channel partner Apple assortment, product taxonomies, videos, images, product descriptions, and more to reduce cross-functional team member manual digital content publishing efforts. - Build automation scripts to help publishing teams publish more accurate, complete digital content faster during Apple's NPI events. - Analyze, propose, build, and scale limited and broader automation scripting tools and capabilities to support Apple publishers. - Optimize the content distribution workflow and utilize automation scripts, machine learning models etc to enable process improvements. - Support, track, and ensure implementation and publishing of data/content within time sensitive workflows. - Manage external vendors, technology budgets, negotiations and QA resources. - Partner with cross-functional teams such as Marcom, Business Process Re-engineering (BPR), Product Marketing and Engineering on developing new solutions to improve digital content distribution. - Collaborate with other technical teams on DevOps responsibilities for application deployment, performance, monitoring, reliability, and scalability.
Minimum Qualifications
- Typically requires a minimum of 12+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated ability in back-end programming with Python, JavaScript, and SQL
- Familiarity deploying applications and utilities on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or GCP)
- Expertise in monitoring tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of API's, HTTP(S), and REST architecture
- Proficiency in driving automation and scalability to processes and tools; Experience building automation tools, utilities, and web applications for data pipelines, cleansing, and transformation
- Experience managing content meta-data and asset performance across a global digital channel
- Deep expertise in building digital content automation workflows and connecting product information management systems (PIM), content management systems (CMS), and digital asset management systems (DAM) such as Adobe, Content Stack, and/or Stibo
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, data science, or digital content management
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid understanding of content localization processes for a global audience
- Broad experience defining requirements and integrations tied to various content tools, e.g. PIM, DAM, CMS, Service provider/syndication is highly desirable
- Familiarity with eCommerce technology platforms (e.g., Shopify)
- Experience with Unix-based systems and command-line tools
- Background working with annotated data and/or leveraging generative AI in products is a plus
- Prior experience in SDLC project management and analysis including scoping / timeline management, documenting use cases, process flows/swim lane diagrams, requirements, user acceptance testing, change management, etc.
- Ability to create solutions, navigate ambiguity, and bring clarity to early-stage product ideas
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Outstanding problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Proven relationship building skills and ability to quickly establish trust, credibility, and influence across a variety of cross-functional and multi-directional partners
- Ability to deliver large scale initiatives, with high levels of complexity in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment
- Master's Degree is a plus
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $195,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
