Description

As a Screening & Integration Engineer on the Apple Watch Intelligent System Experience team, you will triage incoming bugs, analyze logs, and prioritize issues for key watchOS experiences including the Smart Stack, clock faces, the home screen, notifications, and the frameworks that power them. You will be encouraged to spot emerging issues from bug reports filed by Apple employees and external developers, follow up with bug filers to collect additional information that can help the team debug, test features and fixes, and manage code submissions for multiple software releases. You will gain encyclopedic knowledge of an area of watchOS and apply that knowledge to engineering design discussions and feature planning. You will drive our day-to-day process around bug and source code management in service of crafting high-quality intelligent experiences and improvements for our customers and developers. Minimum Qualifications

  • Coursework in Computer Science/Engineering is desirable, but a specific degree or concentration is not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Dedicated, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creative problem-solver, undaunted by big problem spaces
  • Able to effectively prioritize, categorize, and communicate about large sets of bug reports and feature enhancements
  • Familiarity with consumer-facing software development processes
  • Expertise with bug tracking systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience with command line tools, UNIX, Linux, or Terminal
  • Familiarity with watchOS, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and visionOS
  • Experience with source control (git experience preferred)
  • Experience with automated build, continuous integration, and test automation systems
  • Experience with scripting languages, like Python, JavaScript, or shell scripting (zsh, bash)
  • Familiarity with iOS development tools (Xcode, Instruments)
  • Knowledge of Objective-C and Swift, and frameworks like SwiftUI
  • Experience debugging software issues
  • Familiarity with machine learning models

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $112,900 and $234,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
