Would you like to join a team focused on solving the technical challenges of Apple's future products? We are the Apple Reliability Lab team, and we support Reliability and Product Development Engineers in testing the durability and longevity of Apple's prototype hardware designs. As a Reliability Test Engineer, you'll bring your collaborative and comprehensive skills and experiences to evaluate Apple hardware designs in various scenarios that simulate real-world use, such as dropping devices onto different surfaces. Your responsibilities include setting up test equipment and fixtures, collecting data, and analyzing the results. The test lab is a fast-paced, hands-on environment where engineers are encouraged to be self-motivated and able to multitask. While some tests may be repetitive, reliable and consistent data reporting is crucial to ensure the integrity of the tests. Come join our team!

Description
- You will work from existing documentation to perform mechanical and environmental Reliability tests to characterize and evaluate new hardware designs. - Independently conduct experiments using mechanical and electronic equipment in a lab environment. - Use creative and innovative thinking to resolve technical problems. - Perform detailed first level failure analysis through cosmetic and functional evaluations. - Develop detailed test schedules with checkpoints and deadlines, promptly informing stakeholders of any changes. - Capture and present data in clear, regular updates to engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in related fields, or five years equivalent experience
- 2+ years experience with handheld and benchtop electronic tools, including multimeters, data acquisition systems, and power supplies.
- Exceptional attention to detail, translating into excellent written and verbal communication.
- Manage multiple fast-paced projects with large volumes and challenging deadlines.
- Understand physics and electronics, applying creativity, common sense, and technical skills to solve complex problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with sensors like accelerometers, strain gauges, load cells, and pressure sensors.
- Proficient in MacOS, iOS, and Apple hardware.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $117,832 and $205,500 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
