We are looking for an experienced Engineering Program Manager (EPM) with a strong background in hardware reliability, data analysis, and statistical methods used in reliability engineering. Experience in consumer electronics, specifically portable and home audio is a plus but not a requirement. You must be competent in programming with Python or similar languages as you will help drive initiatives to automate and streamline processes within the hardware reliability organization. In this role you will play a key part in ensuring the reliability of our consumer hardware products, supporting automation processes, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve engineering and organization goals. Description
As a Program Manager at Apple, you will support and manage technical programs focused on the reliability of consumer hardware products. In this role, you will: - Have a mindset for continuous improvement, with the ability to adapt existing workflows and create new ones. - Be responsible for driving reliability testing protocols and procedures for consumer electronics technology. - Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and mitigate reliability risks throughout the product lifecycle. - Analyze failure modes and develop strategies to improve product durability and performance, and regularly prepare and present detailed reports and updates on program status to collaborators and senior management. - Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and manufacturing, to ensure project landmarks are met and provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, encouraging a culture of reliability and quality. - Support automation efforts to improve reliability testing and data analysis, demonstrating your familiarity with databases, API's, and programming skills in Python - Manage schedules and program budgets, including tracking lab test equipment and resources.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors in an Engineering field such as Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related experience
- 3+ years experience running technical programs with cross-functional teams with a Bachelor's or 1+ year with a Masters or PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters or PhD in an Engineering field such as Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related experience
- 1+ years of experience supporting reliability in audio-focused consumer electronics
- 3+ years of experience in hardware reliability and program management
- Proficient programming skills in Python or similar languages, with experience in automation, database management, and API integration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- Expert user of Tableau or other business intelligence tools for data visualization and reporting.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,600 and $236,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
