Apple's Applications Content Group is seeking a Real-time Graphics Developer to work on consumer software applications across Apple's device ecosystem. You are a brilliant problem solver, self-starter, and excellent communicator with a passion for great design and the ability to achieve it. You'll be exploring new and existing technology, looking for creative ways to augment existing visual effects or come up with completely new ideas. You, in collaboration with other members of the team, will design, implement and iterate on new content prototypes. Description
You will take comps from design teams and rebuild them using internal frameworks and technologies. You can write shaders and have a deep understanding of how real-time graphics works. We are a small team, and as such we wear a lot of hats, from creative problem solving to implementation production. You obsess over small details, and make sure every pixel is in its place, not because you have to but because you want it to be correct. You are able to communicate in clear concise manner. You are easy-going, able to multi-task, and can deal with multiple rounds of edits. You are a self-starter and don't need to be asked to do things. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are able to keep many different projects and priorities organized and moving in the right direction. A deep understanding of our Apps and how code works is essential for success. You may be asked to work on something that can't be done with any shipping app, so the ability to articulate what tools will be necessary to design, produce and ship a product Is essential. You are able to communicate in clear concise manner. You are easy-going, able to multi-task, can deal with tedious tasks and with multiple rounds edits. You are a self-starter and don't need to be asked to do things. You are dedicated to finding the best possible way to do something today, knowing tomorrow there may be a much better way to do it. The process is constantly changing so we have to think fast, adapt and brainstorm new ways to produce results. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are able to keep many different projects and priorities organized and moving in the right direction. We work with Engineers to develop tools to do our job as effectively and accurately as possible. We need to anticipate what we need from Engineering so that we can work together to ship the product. A deep understanding of how code works, and how things can be manipulated to suit our needs is essential for success. A deep understanding of our Apps is also very important. You may be asked to work on something that can't be done with any shipping app, so the ability to articulate what tools will be necessary to design, produce and ship a product Is essential.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of work experience with a focus on real-time graphics design across a variety of platforms like iOS, web or others.
- Experienced with Metal/GLSL/HLSK Shaders and visual programming languages and tools such as Touch Designer, Processing, OpenFrameworks, ShaderToy, or Unity
- Experience with 3D modeling, VFX composition and video editing pipelines and tools (Cinema 4D, Houdini, Nuke, After Effects, Final Cut )
- Clear, open, and collaborative interpersonal skills; capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Proficient with GIT
- Adobe Creative Suite ( Photoshop, Illustrator... )
- Swift development experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in iWork Suite ( Keynote, Pages... ) and
- A passion and eye for visual detail in proportion, motion, and interaction.
- Passionate for Apple, its products, and its customers.
- Ability to create test apps or prototypes to showcase your ideas
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,000 and $236,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
