Apple Hardware Engineering is looking for a QA Software Development Team Lead to lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, specializing in automation testing and ensuring software quality across multiple custom products as we roll them into production. The successful candidate will drive the test strategy focusing on improving the engineering process, design and quality of next generation tools which will be used in Apple environment. With an eye for quality, the ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership skills and problem-solving abilities. They will be independently motivated, willing to develop a sustainable test environment to rollout tools and solutions to the best hardware engineering team on the planet.

Description
In this role you will lead a team of QA engineers to develop test strategies and programs to meet effective rollout of MCAD and ECAD custom products in Apple environment. Responsibility extends from test bench creation to product testing and launch into production. Major job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Facilitated effective communication between QA team and development team to identify and resolve issues promptly • Develop comprehensive test strategies, including test cases, test plans, and test scripts based on project requirements. • Prioritize test cases and effectively managed test execution timelines to ensure timely delivery of quality software. • Implement automation frameworks to streamline regression testing and improve efficiency. • Identify, log, and track defects using defect tracking tools, ensuring clear and concise defect descriptions for efficient resolution. • Collaborate with developers to prioritize and resolve defects within established timelines. • Manage a team of QA engineers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and coaching to achieve project goals • Conducted regular performance reviews and identified training needs for team members
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years of technical work experience in Quality Assurance (QA) automation with at least 4 years leading a team.
- Deep understanding of test harness creation and automation, having participated in all QA phases, from the definition of a test plan and strategy to its design and execution.
- Experience with C, Java, Python and JavaScript programming.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of testing techniques including, functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, performance testing, usability testing and API testing.
- Experience with Automation Tools such as Selenium, Appium, JMeter and TestRail, and Defect Tracking Systems like Jira or Bugzilla.
- Knowledge of SDLC and Agile Methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Experience leading a team including team building, mentoring, project planning and prioritization, performance evaluation and feedback, conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Flexibility and comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Dynamic with a "can do" attitude. Humble and act with grace under fire.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
