The Display Silicon Drivers group at Apple is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer for Tools and Automation to collaborate with the Engineering development team to enhance software quality and integration. Description

Design, develop, and deploy innovative solutions to enhance the software quality of the engineering development team. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong programming fundamentals and prior programming or automation experience. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation infrastructure geared towards Display Software/Firmware validation. This may include developing test plans, tests, tools, or other solutions to streamline the validation process and flag issues faster. The responsibilities will span all phases of product development: In early development phases, you will be asked to develop an automation test plan in cooperation with development engineering to cover the new features of our products and identify new potential requirements for the infrastructure. As development progresses, you will work closely with engineers to build, run automated test suites, and triage the failures. Along the way, you will build knowledge of issues with our products and expand the automation test suites to cover those.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in modern OO languages such as Python, Objective-C, Swift, and C++.
  • Experience in tools development and deployment at scale (native and/or web based applications or APIs)
  • Proficiency in modern SCM systems.
  • Strong debugging and triaging abilities, including the ability to identify and contribute software fixes quickly and accurately in a fast-paced development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of statistics/data mining as it relates to data analysis is a valuable asset. (Splunk, Tableau, SQL)
  • Experience in hardware and software development lifecycle processes.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) experience, preferably in consumer hardware and software products.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment and with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay focused and prioritize a full workload while achieving extraordinary quality
  • Strong team player who enjoys collaboration
  • Positive attitude and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Education: BS/MS degree in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experience

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
