In this role you will apply your mechanical design engineering skills and ability to lead the end-to-end mechanical development and integration of innovative modules into next generation Apple products.

Description
The Battery Pack Product Design team is responsible for the mechanical design and integration of battery packs into Apple products. In this role, you will apply your mechanical design engineering skills to design a battery pack, optimizing across product development groups. • Design for stages from NPI through mass production • Utilize creative problem solving to overcome technical challenges through spatial reasoning, design optimization, trade-off analysis, and attention to detail • Apply engineering fundamentals to design analysis • Realize designs through tolerance analysis, design for assembly/manufacturing, and cross functional collaboration • Communicate designs through detailed, cross functional design reviews • Drive failure analyses and design of experiments (DOEs) to develop design solutions and implement corrective actions • Release drawings and maintain documentation through revision control • Travel up to 20% throughout the year
Minimum Qualifications
- BS
- Design and 3D CAD experience
- Experience with multiple part assemblies including tolerance analysis, DOE's, failure analysis, and design validation
- Experience in design cycle from concept through mass production
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of industry experience
- Experience with precision parts, consumer electronics or PCB design
- High degree of motivation, curiosity, and attention to detail
- Ability to generate detailed designs with multi-functional teams, including drawings, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and engineering reviews
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, or statistical tolerance analysis techniques
- Clear and concise communication skills for technical status of projects cross functionally and throughout management structure
- Demonstrated ability to deliver to product timelines
- Experience in design cycle from concept through MP with high-volume manufacturing processes and/or automation, including design validation and characterization
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
