Our mission is to deliver world-leading programs to address the impacts of climate change, conserve resources, and utilize safer materials in our products. Our team is looking for a forward-thinking, hard-working, and motivated Product Compliance Engineer to partner externally and internally to assure the highest integrity and conformance to best practices with regards to product sustainability standards. You will partner externally to monitor and influence the world of product sustainability standards. You will partner closely with teams within Apple to integrate key aspects of core standards into design, operations and supply chain, and to demonstrate conformance to them.

Description
You will work with cross-functional teams including engineering, environmental, operations and supply chain to build consensus on input towards external criteria for product sustainability standards, and internally to obtain the information needed to demonstrate conformance to key criteria. You will participate in one or more external standards development committees, to advise and influence consumer electronic product sustainability standards. You will lead engagements with certifiers / verifiers You will build upon and develop relationships with key external stakeholders to drive adoption of best practice product environmental criteria and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant experience in consumer electronics and environmental compliance
- Demonstrated familiarity and experience engaging with global product sustainability standards (EPEAT, TCO, UL ECOLOGO, UL110, IEEE 1680.1), conformity assessment, accredited standards, and third party certification
- Knowledge and experience in product sustainability aspects (energy efficiency, restricted substances, recyclability/recycling, recycled content, eco-design, responsible sourcing, supply chain labor/OHS auditing, facility management system certifications), current and future green claims requirements
- Demonstrated track record monitoring and addressing compliance to product sustainability standards in the electronics sector
- Proficiency in program management - leading, organizing, and driving complex projects with tight timelines and interfaces with many partners
- Outstanding communication skills, both spoken and written; strong teamwork and leadership skills, and ability to communicate across variety of audiences.
- Ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations and fostering team collaboration
- Able to negotiate, strike agreements, and resolve conflicts constructively
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally
Preferred Qualifications
- MSME/MSEE/MSCE or MBA preferred, but not required
- Technical project/product management experience
- International experience at the enterprise level and with global standards
- Certification management experience
- Development or management of a compliance and/or environmental management system
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
