Description

The Photos UI Engineering group is made up of teams that work closely together to build all the customer-facing features in the Photos apps across all platforms (iOS, macOS, tvOS). The Photos app is used by millions of users every day to access their photo library, relive memories, edit, organize, share, and more. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the team responsible for developing core workflow experiences in the Photos app (on iOS, macOS and tvOS). This team oversees key features, including Search, Image Picker, Projects, and Import/Export flows. In this role, you will guide your team in close collaboration with partners across Apple, including Design, AI/ML, and Marketing, to deliver seamless and impactful user experiences. Our focus on creating the most performant, interactive, and immersive experiences has led us to reinvent our application over the past few years. Among the major advancements we've made, we've invested heavily in developing our own custom rendering engine, an on-disk knowledge graph to infer meaning, and local AI models, to deliver unique experiences-all while maintaining user privacy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge and experience with iOS and macOS platforms
  • Extensive programming expertise, with deep knowledge of Objective-C or Swift, and a strong background in developing complex apps for iOS, macOS, and/or tvOS
  • Proven experience in leading, managing, and growing engineering teams
  • High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to project management and execution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

    Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
