You will play a key role in specifying, developing, characterizing, and validating motion sensing systems. Familiarity with MEMS sensor technologies such as inertial sensor performance metrics, inertial sensor usage and limitations, and system integration are a major plus! The Motion Sensing Hardware Team features a collaborative environment with creative, hard-working people and innovative technologies. This team defines and integrates MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes across a variety of Apple products such as iPhones, iPads, Watch, AirPods, Vision Pro, and more. Features we help enable include Fall Detection, Spatial Audio, Optical Image Stabilization, and many others.

Description
You will be developing and validating motion sensors in systems. You will be expected to identify, create, and document sensing metrics for system applications. Work cross-functionally to identify critical performance parameters.
Key Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience and proven track record in sensing system hardware engineering
- Fundamental knowledge and experience in physics, mechanical, electrical, and material science engineering, and manufacturing technology relevant to sensor fabrication
- Experience in characterization, and validation of sensing systems that includes theory of operation, signal processing, fabrication, packaging, and design trade-offs
- Experience in programming in one or more of the following: C/Python/MATLAB/Swift
- Self-driven and curious to engage and solve engineering challenges
- Experience with high volume mass production is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel are required
Education & Experience
BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
