Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Provide support to the camera test engineering teams with the design and bring up of test equipment throughout the entire product design lifecycle. Review new module 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and detailing manufacturing change order (MCO) to identify socket related risks and mechanical performance end to end - from design and approval, to data collection and buy off. Prototype and stress testing to identify weak components that are not suitable for mass production while working closely with suppliers to review and enforce a robust outgoing quality control (OQC) process, and to ensure that test fixture quality is maintained before shipment. Identify the best datums to use in the socket using background to architect the efficient solution for the problem at hand. Define product requirements, ensure compliance to both upstream and downstream stakeholders, drive vendors to meet schedule commitments, and contribute to research and project planning. Perform design of experiments and prototype to derive the most optimum contact probing and spring forces in test socket to validate and qualify camera module designs. Lead and manage projects, review supplier tool design, develop test tools and provide recommendation to improve process flow. International Travel Required 5%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $162,244 - 214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.   • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required.
  • Using CAD skills, including reviewing CAD design files from vendors
  • Using GD&T, including performing mechanical analysis of tool designs
  • Using Tolerance Analysis, including experience designing using high precision tools and tolerance control
  • Experience in Simulation FEA, including identifying design flaws and mitigation.
  • Experience in Six Sigma methodology, including statistical analysis experience, and designing tools for high volume production
  • Experience in Manufacturing Process & 5S in a high-volume production environment
